Description of Services & Deliverables
FDLE requires the services of one System Security Specialist for Production System Services initiatives and other FDLE Information Systems. The System Specialist will work under the direction of the FDLE’s Data Processing Manager(s) to achieve the goals and objectives of the projects stated below.
The person in this function will be responsible for technical research of technologies and methods for meeting the functional and nonfunctional requirements.
•Designs and implements cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 that meet Judiciary requirements and adhere to both industry best practices and cybersecurity requirements.
•Administers and troubleshoots Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure Active Directory).
•Creates a comprehensive security plan to implement leveraging services such as Windows Defender, Data Loss Prevention, and Advanced Threat Protection.
•Modernizes on-premises applications, leveraging Azure services.
• Integrates third-party applications in conjunction with vendor support.
• Provides Tier-3 support assisting IT staff around the nation with in-depth technical support and troubleshooting advanced problems.
•Communicates technical issues, to both a nontechnical and technical audience, with excellent customer service skills.
•Develops and maintains project documentation such as: infrastructure diagrams, installation documentation, upgrade assessments, and knowledge-based articles.
•Leads Azure related projects independently or through collaboration with team members.
•Supports Microsoft 365 products such as Office 365 Apps and Services, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
•Monitors Microsoft 365 and Azure services and prepares reports on usage and system health.
•Serves as a Microsoft Windows escalation resource and mentors team members.
•Demonstrates attention to detail and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted during course of work.
System Security Specialist responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:
•Act as the primary technical expert in the Microsoft 365 domain.
•Develop, configure, and maintain the organization's Microsoft 365 environment.
•Translate business requirements into architectural designs and effectively communicate them to C-level executives.
•Lead end-to-end implementations of Microsoft 365 workloads, ensuring seamless integration.
•Offer guidance to the IT management team on current and emerging Microsoft 365 technologies.
•Generate comprehensive documentation for both current and future cloud solutions, detailing both high-level overviews and specific technical configurations.
•Assess Microsoft 365 platform governance needs and evaluate security configuration options.
•Provide expertise and lead significant service migrations to Microsoft 365.
•Collaborate closely with Infosec teams to ensure that designs adhere to information security best practices and organizational requirements.
•Regularly conduct assessments of Microsoft 365 and cloud environments to identify and address critical deficiencies.
•Produce technical documentation for cloud solutions and projects, covering processes, procedures, troubleshooting steps, training materials, and change management protocols at an expert level.
•Mentor and coach other members of the IT team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
•Take ownership of solutions and provide subject matter expertise throughout the organization's software development life cycle (SDLC) process.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•3 + years of experience in Azure and O365 services, including Exchange Online, Azure Security and Compliance, Power Platform, Identity, and Microsoft Teams.
•Advanced background in managing Azure Directory Sync in a hybrid environment.
•Experience working with Microsoft Windows Server OS (2016, 2019, 2022).
•Knowledge of Azure and O365 application and infrastructure architecture.
•Practical and in-depth understanding of networking principles.
•Ability to design, implement, and support Microsoft 365 Government (GCC) environments.
•Experience using PowerShell to manage, configure, and troubleshoot Windows servers and Microsoft 365 environments.
•Skilled in leading projects and providing architectural input for system designs.
The System Security Specialist will report to the designated FDLE supervisor. The System Security Specialist is expected to perform the tasks and specific assignments given by the FDLE supervisor.
